How Using The Right Email Address Could Get You The Job

Ranked #2 in Hiring & Employees
For job interviews, using the wrong email address or what is referred to in the corporate world as junk email address could actually deny you the chance of getting hired. Every job applicant should have a professional email address meant for use in CVs or resume, or for hiring purposes. This article explains why this is important and shows you how to go about tailoring the right email address meant just for you.

Recruiting personnels and agents are continually evolving new ways of hiring; not just depending on paper qualifications alone but looking into the core traits of the applicants through simple psychological evaluations. Gone are the days when you will brandish a first class honors and you will see job offers flooding your door step. These days you will have to work for it; and real hard for that matter.

The very first step of getting employed involves job search and every job search most often involves the writing of a CV/résumé. One very important aspect of the CV or resume that is often over looked is the email address. Using the right or wrong email address could go a long way to landing you the job or denying you the job.

In this article, I will show you how your prospective employee uses the email address and how to tailor your email addresses to send the right message to the hiring manager.

How Employees Make Use Of The Email Address In Your CVs / Resume

Every CV / resume should have an email address for feedback purposes from the prospective employee. The email address carries weight as the hiring personnel don’t just use it for contact alone but now use it in judging your key traits and personality make up. Just as the handwriting is believed to tell a lot about a person (this continually amazes me) the email address you use does also tell a lot about you.

In the corporate world, hiring managers and firms are becoming increasingly concerned about the personality make up of their staff and not just the paper qualifications. It is known for a fact that a psychological balanced staff performs better than an unbalanced one; both in the short and long run.

There is a kind of email that is frequently been used to screen out applicants without them been none the wiser. It is called the junk email address. What’s a junk email address in the corporate world? It is when you make your email addresses to appear funky and sexy. Take for instance, what do you think about such email addresses as hotlover@yahoo.com, sexyeyes@hotmail.com, lesbiansforever@hotmail.com, terroristzone@rocketmail.com? All these are junk email addresses and unwittingly tell about the personality of the applicant. Such applicants could lose the job even before getting interviewed no matter how well tailored the CV / resume might be. However, we are talking about email addresses used for CVs and hiring purposes.

How Should The Email Address Appear?

The best email addresses to use are the ones that bear your name. Take for instance, if your name is Wesley Snipes, you could use an email address like wesleysnipes@hotmail.com. The catch is that the email address for job recruitment should bear your name. You could use sleek email addresses for internet businesses to showcase your trades but for hiring purposes, stick to the rules. I know of tens of less informed job hunters who never had a chance because of some fanciful and sleek email addresses.

Need to land that juicy job offer? Then go get a real professional email address and do away with the junk email address in you have in your CV / resume.

You have stated some pertinent information so valuable to securing employment.thank you.

Thanks Madam Robert....appreciate.

Excellent advice, but I just want to add one thing, a professional or company name as the email address works equally well and sometimes even better than your personal name. For example, I'm a professional freelance writer and two of my professional email addresses are wordsmith1943@aol.com and jwfreelancer1943@gmail.com. Both of those work extremely well because they identify my business to the email recipient. My real name, Jerry Walch, appears as the email signature.

You are right Sir Jerry. The fault lies with funky and fanciful email addresses as stated in the article. Emails showcasing what you do does work perfectly well. Should have added that....my bad. Thanks for the addition and support...really do appreciate.

The internet has changed many things in the hiring process. Well done.
